ABE/GED
AIOIC’s Adult Basic Education and GED program is geared to help students prepare for the GED, employer, or training program examinations. Students improve their reading comprehension, writing, vocabulary, and math. Classes are free and available to anyone. A waiver is required for youth under the age of 19 and an application can be arranged.
Enrollment
Initial math, reading, and writing assessments must be taken through the Adult Basic Education Test. The test is held every other Friday from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. and testers must show up on time. The results indicate if any courses are needed to pass the GED examination. Classroom hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 A.M. to 3:40 P.M. . English, math, social studies, and science instruction and tutoring are available.
The cost for the GED examination is $75.00, and most students qualify for funding.
