The US Secretary of Labor recently appointed American Indian OIC’s president and CEO, Dr. Joe Hobot, to the labor department’s Native American Employment and Training Council. Along with the other council members, Dr. Hobot will advise the operations and administration of the US’s Native American employment and training programs. The council was established by Section 166 of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunities Act and Dr. Hobot’s term will expire in late 2021.
Dr. Hobot was also recently named 100 People to Know in 2020 by Twin Cities Business magazine. Dr. Hobot was recognized for his and AIOIC’s work addressing employment and education disparities for Native Americans, low income families, and individuals impacted by the criminal justice system.
