1845 EAST FRANKLIN AVENUE, MINNEAPOLIS
Noon- HEALING CEREMONY & LUNCH
1-5PM- CLEAN UP
American Indian OIC and Takoda are hosting a campus clean up day and healing ceremony on Friday, June 19, 2020. The event aims to begin the healing process for our campus community in the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic and the murder of Mr. George Floyd. Thanks to protection from members of the American Indian Movement, our building was not damaged during the Uprising, but we seek to channel the support coming out of the crises to clean up our longstanding community institution.
Clean up will begin at 1PM on June 19. The healing ceremony and lunch will be at noon. Volunteers can come and go as their schedule allows. All activities are expected to finish by 5PM. Please bring any tools you think will be helpful (you will take them home with you). Most activities will focus on landscape maintenance and storage organization. Gloves, masks, and protective eye wear are encouraged. American Indian OIC is easily accessible by bus, bike, and light rail. Free parking is also available.
To participate in the clean up day, please complete the form found here. If you have questions or would like more information, call 612.341.3358, x125.
