The Minneapolis Employment and Training Program (METP)
METP was developed to assist Minneapolis residents with job training and placement services that lead to economic self-sufficiency. Our focus is to help people who have barriers that make it difficult to find a job and those who need help with the employment process.

Eligibility and Enrollment

Eligible candidates are:

  • Minneapolis Residents.
  • 18 years old or older.
  • Not currently enrolled in a Workforce Investment Act (WIA).
  • Not enrolled with any other Minneapolis Employment Training Program (METP).
  • Expected to complete a career interest survey.
  • Expected to participate in orientation and assessment testing. Orientation and testing occurs every Monday from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. We only accept the first 10 candidates each week so it is important to arrive early. Assessment testing for basic education begins at 9:30 a.m. and ends at 1:00.

After we receive the assessment results, an individual appoint will be scheduled to begin a career plan for GED preparation, work readiness training, job training and placement, and supportive services.
