American Indian OIC learned of the recent passing of its first Executive Director, Mike Bongo. Mike was a remarkable leader and during his tenure with AIOIC, spearheaded initiatives that shaped the organization in ways that endure today. Perhaps most noteworthy, was developing the AIOIC’s Workforce Investment Program, an employment program for Native Americans living in Hennepin County. He also started a capital campaign in the late 1980’s to raise funds to buy the buildings and property where the organization is currently located.

Because of Mike’s hard work, vision and dedication, American Indian OIC continues to be a vital resource to the community, providing career counseling, education and training programs that result in employment and career advancement.
