Workforce Investment Act – Adults (WIA)
WIP is a comprehensive job placement program that focuses on building the skills necessary to successfully transition into the world of work. Our program offers:

  • Assessment and personal employment planning
  • A comprehensive one week work readiness class that focuses on employer expectations, appropriate workplace behavior, and job success skills.
  • Short-term pre-employment and job seeking skills or job training
  • Job development and job placement assistance
  • Supportive services for employment related needs
  • On-going job retention services and Employment Success Rewards Program
Eligibility and Enrollment
Eligibility for the WIP program requires that you are:
  • American Indian descent
  • A resident of Hennepin County
  • Meet federal income guidelines
  • Unemployed or underemployed

If you meet the eligibility criteria, you can schedule an intake appointment by calling 612-341-3358 ext. 129. After you have completed your intake appointment, you can schedule to attend orientation and assessment testing. Orientation and Adult Basic Education testing is required and held every Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
