Takoda’s information technology training programs are designed to help you get the skills and credentials needed to quickly enter in-demand IT support jobs. Takoda is a CompTIA certified training provider and successful students will graduate with A+, N+, or IT Tech+ credentials. Our intimate class sizes and caring instructors ensure that you are learning in a supportive and career-focused environment. Training is offered at no cost to students and our career counselors will help you find employment once you graduate.

IT Tech +

CompTIA Information Technology Fundamentals helps students gain a better understanding of information technology and explore careers in the field. The Takoda Institute provides rigorous instruction, test preparation, and credential testing.

In the IT Tech+ program, you will learn the basics of information technology, including computer hardware, software, operating systems, networking, cybersecurity fundamentals, and troubleshooting. The program is designed to help students understand how technology works and explore different careers in the IT field. Students also receive rigorous instruction, test preparation, and the opportunity to earn the CompTIA IT Fundamentals (ITF+) credential through Takoda Institute.

Yes, the IT Tech+ program is free, and no prior experience is required. This program is beginner-friendly and open to students who are interested in learning about technology. Takoda Institute provides step-by-step instruction, hands-on learning, exam preparation, and credential testing to support student success.

The IT Tech+ program builds a strong foundation in information technology, helping students explore career paths such as IT support, networking, cybersecurity, and other technology-related fields. Earning the CompTIA IT Fundamentals credential demonstrates your understanding of core IT concepts and can help you qualify for entry-level IT roles, further training programs, or continued education in the technology field.

A+

CompTIA A+ is the industry standard for launching IT support careers. A+ certified professionals are problem solvers who support core technologies from security to cloud to data management and more. Takoda’s team will help you prepare for your A+ credential exam and identify career opportunities.

To enroll in this course, students must meet one of the following requirements:

Six months of work experience in an

IT support position

45 post-secondary credits in IT-related coursework

In this program, students will build on their existing IT knowledge and gain more advanced skills in areas such as computer systems, networking, operating systems, security fundamentals, and troubleshooting. The course is designed to prepare students for the next level of IT certifications and careers, with structured instruction, hands-on practice, exam preparation, and credential testing provided.

There is no cost to enroll in this program. However, students must meet one of the following prerequisites before enrolling:
  • A CompTIA IT Fundamentals (ITF+) certification Six months of work experience in an IT support position
  • 45 post-secondary credits in IT-related coursework
These prerequisites ensure that students have the foundational knowledge needed to succeed in the course.

This program helps students move beyond entry-level knowledge and prepares them for higher-level IT roles such as IT support specialist, help desk technician, or junior systems technician. By strengthening technical skills and earning industry-recognized credentials, students improve their job readiness, career advancement opportunities, and long-term growth in the IT field.

Network +

Network+ ensures an IT professional has the knowledge and skills needed to design and implement functional networks and to configure, manage and maintain essential network devices. Rigorous instruction, exam preparation, and credential testing is available through the Takoda Institute. Lessons include computer forensic practices, network monitoring, and routing protocols.

In the Network+ program, students will gain the knowledge and skills needed to design and implement functional computer networks. Lessons focus on configuring, managing, and maintaining essential network devices, as well as network monitoring, routing protocols, and basic computer forensic practices. Takoda Institute provides rigorous instruction, hands-on learning, exam preparation, and credential testing to prepare students for the CompTIA Network+ certification.

There is no cost to enroll in this program. However, students must meet one of the following prerequisites:
  • A CompTIA A+ certification
  • Six months of work experience in an IT support position
  • 45 post-secondary credits in IT-related coursework
These prerequisites ensure students have the foundational IT knowledge necessary to succeed in the Network+ course.

The Network+ program prepares students for in-demand IT roles such as network technician, network support specialist, or junior network administrator. Earning the CompTIA Network+ certification demonstrates your ability to design, manage, and troubleshoot networks, helping you advance your career and pursue higher-level opportunities in the information technology field.

Security +

CompTIA Security+ is the first security certification a candidate should earn. It establishes the core knowledge required of any cybersecurity role and provides a springboard to intermediate-level cybersecurity jobs. Security+ incorporates best practices in hands-on troubleshooting, ensuring candidates have practical security problem-solving skills required to:

Assess the security posture of an enterprise environment and recommend and implement appropriate security solutions

Monitor and secure hybrid environments, including cloud, mobile, and IoT

Operate with an awareness of applicable laws and policies, including principles of governance, risk, and compliance

Identify, analyze, and respond to security events and incidents

In the Security+ program, students will gain the core knowledge required for entry-level and intermediate cybersecurity roles. The course covers assessing the security posture of enterprise environments, recommending and implementing appropriate security solutions, and monitoring and securing hybrid environments, including cloud, mobile, and IoT systems. Students also learn how to identify, analyze, and respond to security events and incidents, while operating with an understanding of laws, policies, governance, risk, and compliance. Takoda Institute provides rigorous instruction, hands-on troubleshooting, exam preparation, and credential testing for the CompTIA Security+ certification.

There is no cost to enroll in this program. However, students should have a foundational understanding of information technology before enrolling. Prior IT experience or earlier CompTIA certifications are recommended to ensure student success in the Security+ course

The Security+ program prepares students for cybersecurity roles such as security analyst, cybersecurity technician, or systems administrator with security responsibilities. Earning the CompTIA Security+ certification demonstrates your ability to secure systems, manage risk, and respond to security incidents, helping you access higher-level cybersecurity opportunities and advance in the IT field.
