Need Help Accessing Food?

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), formerly known as food stamps, helps individuals and families afford the food they need to stay healthy. At American Indian OIC, we’re here to make the application process easier for you.

Whether you’re applying for the first time or need help renewing your benefits, our team is ready to assist.

What is SNAP?

SNAP provides monthly benefits to help low-income households buy groceries. Benefits are loaded onto an EBT (Electronic Benefit Transfer) card, which works like a debit card and can be used at most grocery stores, convenience stores, and farmers markets.

SNAP can help stretch your food budget, giving you access to nutritious food options for
yourself and your family.

We Can Help With:

  • New SNAP applications
  • Renewing or recertifying SNAP benefits
  • Reporting changes to your case
  • Understanding your eligibility and benefits

Our team will guide you through the process step-by-step and answer any questions along the way.

Who Qualifies for SNAP?

You may qualify for SNAP if you meet certain income and household requirements.

Eligibility is based on:

  • Household income
  • Household size
  • Citizenship or immigration status
  • Expenses like rent, utilities, and childcare

Many people are surprised to learn they qualify—even if they work full time or receive other benefits.
