Supporting Our Community During Ongoing Crises

As ongoing crises impact immigrant communities and families facing detention, housing, and food insecurity, our team is providing increased support and sharing a community resource guide for legal, housing, and basic needs assistance.

Many individuals and families in our community are facing heightened stress and uncertainty due to ongoing crises. These challenges are deeply impacting immigrant communities and others who may be experiencing detention, housing instability, food insecurity, or limited access to critical resources.

During this time, our impacted clients are receiving additional support from their case managers, including more frequent check-ins and assistance navigating urgent needs. Our team remains committed to providing care, stability, and guidance as our clients move through this difficult period.

We also want to share a resource document compiled by community partners and trusted organizations that includes support for:

  • Immigrant and legal services

  • Detainee resources and family support

  • Food delivery and basic needs

  • Rent and housing assistance

  • Volunteer opportunities and donation options

We encourage anyone who may need support or who is supporting others to review the document and share it widely. Access to timely, reliable resources can make a real difference right now.

Our community’s strength lies in care, connection, and solidarity. We are here, and we will continue to stand with those most impacted.

We’re thrilled to share a success story from our job training program, the Takoda Institute of Higher Education. One recent phlebotomy graduate, Sarah, secured a job in a hospital lab, just two miles from her home. This achievement is especially meaningful as her journey was filled with challenges and self-doubt. During these tough times, her instructor Katie offered unwavering support, helping her recognize her strengths and reassuring her that things would come together – and they did.
