At just 23 years old, Josh has already experienced challenges that many people face over a lifetime. Originally from Illinois, he spent years feeling uncertain about his future, struggling to find direction, and facing difficult personal and family circumstances.
In 2024, Josh describes his life as being at its lowest point. He applied to over 300 jobs without success, faced instability at home, and found himself surrounded by influences that were holding him back. Feeling stuck and overwhelmed, he knew something had to change—but he didn’t yet know how.
Everything shifted when Josh made the decision to move to Minnesota to live with his older brother and sister-in-law. That move became a turning point. With their support, he committed to making real changes in his life—letting go of negative habits, distancing himself from harmful environments, and focusing on growth.
Through determination and discipline, Josh has now been sober for over a year—a milestone that reflects his commitment to becoming a better version of himself.
While rebuilding his life, Josh discovered an opportunity through a CDL training program. Despite initial delays due to licensing issues, he stayed patient and committed. Once enrolled, he worked hard and successfully completed his training in just a few months.
Soon after, Josh secured a job as a truck driver. The transition wasn’t easy—long hours, intense weather conditions, and the pressure of learning a demanding job tested him early on. But Josh persevered. Today, he is working full-time, has stable income, owns a car, and has built a solid foundation for his future.
What makes Josh’s story especially powerful is his vision. He doesn’t see trucking as his destination, but as a stepping stone. His ultimate goal is to become a pilot. By saving money and planning carefully, he is working toward enrolling in flight school and eventually joining a major airline.
Josh’s journey reflects resilience, humility, and growth. He emphasizes the importance of surrounding yourself with people who genuinely care, letting go of what holds you back, and staying open to change—even when it’s uncomfortable.
His message to others is simple but powerful:
“Surround yourself with people who truly want the best for you. Let go of what keeps you stuck. When you stay humble and open, the path forward will start to reveal itself.”
Today, Josh is not only building a career—he’s building a life with purpose, direction, and hope.
